Choosing your wedding photographer

As we kick off the new year I would like to start with some advice when choosing a wedding photographer.

Your photographs will be your most treasured wedding keepsake. I always tell people” You spend so much money on your wedding, from venue, caterer, dress etc, but the day after the only thing you have left are the wedding photos” So cheaper isn’t always better. In relation the amount of money spent on the day.

Choosing the right photographer to capture your wedding day is an important decision and it's crucial to find someone who understands your vision for your wedding day and who will be able to document it with style. But you'll also want someone you trust and feel comfortable with. The more comfortable a couple is the better the images, they will be able to forget about the camera and focus on each other and the moment they are in.

When choosing a style, don’t go for a trend because trends come and go.

Choose a photographer that you like! Your photographer will be about as close to you on your wedding day as any of your family, wedding party, or other vendors. While everyone plays an important role in making the day enjoyable, your photographer should equally add to the experience. You want to find someone you “click” with. They will be there from the getting ready to the going away, so they need to bring a positive energy to your experience.

My desire is to create imagery that captures the essence of my couples and their style. I envision that moment when you're sitting with your grandkids years down the road, looking back at your wedding images and reliving the experience with them.

Thank you for taking the time to read and I wish you love and happiness, may 2021 be a blessed and fruitful year.

Mishka and Ebraheem 25/10/20

Everybody in the Wedding industry has been impacted massively by COVID-19 issues. But the world keeps spinning, and one thing is for sure, love always overcomes adversity.

It was an honor for me to capture the love that Mishka and Ebraheem have for each other, we had loads of fun shooting the wedding glamour session just outside of Uitenhage.

I would like to wish them a long and happy life filled with love and happiness

Alimi's Farewell at the Boardwalk hotel

From the 1st meeting Alimi and her family really made me feel very welcome, she had a stunning dress made by the talented Franscois Britton and we needed to create a glamorous styled Matric farewell shoot.

We decided to do the shoot at the Boardwalk hotel using off camera flash to highlight the beautiful details of the dress and to create the mood of style and elegance.

I had so much fun and I would like to thank Alimi and her family for allowing me to be part of this milestone. I wish her the best with future endeavors.

Julliette & Rohann's Elopement wedding 09/08/2020

Juliette and Rohann/The Caledon Wedding Venue

Juliette and Rohann met in the University lift club, where Rohann was the driver. They were both staying in Uitenhage and soon hit it off, they became best friends and practically inseparable. Their wedding was a beautiful vintage rustic gathering, full of laughter and most importantly love. The beautiful outdoor Ceremony and wedding was held at the Caledon Wedding venue in Uitenhage.

For the glamour session we wanted a forest feel so we opted to shoot at the beautiful picturesque Slipperfields. As a wedding photographer its always such a pleasure working with a fun loving and easy going couple , despite a few rain drops that started to fall. I really had such an amazing time working with them and I wish them happiness in their new lives together.

Rodwell and Kelly 21/03/20

I was lucky enough to be part of a beautiful union of two amazing people!

The Cape Recife lighthouse was built in 1851.

The lighthouse warns passing ships of the dangers of the equally romantically named Thunderbolt Reef and is one of my favorite areas for Engagement photos. An engagement session is a great chance to get to know the couple before the wedding day, and for them to become more comfortable in front of the camera.

Kelly wanted to capture some seaside images for the engagement session, as her wedding was going to be a forest vibe. Kelly and Rodwell are beyond sweet, and have such amazing chemistry with one another. It was an absolute blast getting to know these two and photographing this stunning couple at Cape Recife lighthouse.

The  ceremony and reception was at Maylamore wedding venue in Port Elizabeth. As a wedding photographer I am all about capturing emotion and there was plenty to go around during the different speeches and toasts. I feel honored to have been a part their special day and I wish them a lifetime of love and happiness. May the years ahead be filled with love and joy and may your love grow stronger each and every passing year

Jason Kieck collaboration 07/09/19

I recently collaborated on a syled bridal shoot with the talented Jason Kieck and his team. We wanted to create a” Shoot with a difference” and it definitely was.

Our model Laurina Machite is a 25-year old Port Elizabeth-based social media influencer, lifestyle blogger, part-time accounting student ,school teacher and also a crowd favourite as one of the top ten finalists in the SABC 3 presenter search television show.

We started off by capturing images of Laurina getting her hair and make up done at Bliss hair Care Port Elizabeth. Sarah Will and her team are such professionals at what they do, they made us feel right at home.

Our venue for the shoot was the stunning No5 by Mantis hotel in Summer Strand , the perfect location for the look we wanted to create.

Working with this amazing team   was such a delight and I would like to thank everyone involved for the support.
